Professor of Economics
Robert Krol is a professor of economics at California State University, Northridge; a Senior Affiliated Scholar for the Mercatus Center at George Mason University; and a member of the Heartland Institute’s Board of Policy Advisors. He also worked as an economist at Security Pacific National Bank in Los Angeles and the Milken Institute in Santa Monica, California. He received his PhD in economics from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale in 1982.
His research focuses on infrastructure issues, international economics, and regional economics. His research has been published in leading economics journals, including the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Urban Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, International Journal of Forecasting, International Finance, and the International Journal of Money and Finance. He has published policy papers for the Cato Institute and Mercatus Center. He has also published opinion articles in the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Times, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Investor’s Business Daily, U.S. News and World report, The Hill, Real Clear Policy, and the Houston Chronicle.
