Mohsen Javdani is an associate professor of economics at Simon Fraser University, specializing in applied and empirical economics, labor economics, and economic inequality. Before SFU, he taught at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus. His work critically examines labor market disparities, focusing on women, immigrants, and racial minorities. Additionally, Mohsen explores mainstream economic perspectives and ideological biases, collaborating with Dr. Ha-Joon Chang from the University of Cambridge on a significant SSHRC-funded project. He’s also co-investigator on a SSHRC partnership grant, tackling employment precarity in British Columbia to promote policy solutions. Across his research, Mohsen aims to address the root causes of inequality and marginalization.
