Bio

Matthew Jaremski is the F. Ross Peterson Professor of Economic History at Utah State University’s Jon M. Huntsman School of Business. He’s also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Matthew earned his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University in 2010. Before joining USU, he was an Associate Professor of Economics at Colgate University. He also worked at Yale University and the Office of Financial Research at the U.S. Treasury.

Matthew’s research focuses on understanding how financial things connect to big economic events. He looks at how the financial system worked in the U.S. before World War II. During that time, banks had different rules, printed their own money, and faced challenges. He’s published his findings in important journals like the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, and Journal of Economic History.
