Liya Palagashvili
Bio
Liya Palagashvili is a Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University and a research fellow at the Classical Liberal Institute at NYU Law. She was formerly an Assistant Professor of Economics at the State University of New York-Purchase, where she taught various economics and public policy courses.
Her research focuses on political economy and applied public policy, particularly in areas such as labor and the gig economy, technology startups, entrepreneurship, governance, economic development, foreign aid, and institutions. Her work has been published in academic journals and she has also written op-eds for well-known publications.
Dr. Palagashvili’s policy papers on labor issues have gained recognition, including citations by the Department of Labor and contributions to regulations in the Federal Register.
