Gustavo Cortes is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.Sc. in Economics from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. His research specializes in Macro-Finance, Financial Crises, Banking, and Financial History. His work has been published in leading academic journals, including the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial Economics, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.
