Eric Edwards
Bio
Dr. Edwards is an assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at NC State University. His work is focused on the economics of water resource management, and the management of natural resources generally. Applications in the water realm have included conservation, markets, groundwater management, urban water pricing, climate change, irrigation, and ecosystem services. His research has been funded by the USDA and National Science Foundation and included interdisciplinary collaborations with scientists, engineers, and legal scholars. His work has been conducted in a number of locations including California, Kansas, Alaska, Chile, and Australia.
Dr. Edwards runs ARE’s Water Resource Economics Extension Program focused on the economics of water quality, agricultural water management, water conservation and adaptation to climate change. He holds a Ph.D. in economics and environmental science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, as well as an MBA from the University of Rochester and a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Idaho. He teaches an interdisciplinary undergraduate/graduate course in water resource economics.
