Assistant Clinical Professor

Bio

Emily Vargo is the Assistant Clinical Professor of Public Policy and Director of Graduate Studies at Penn State, where she oversees student organizations and advises student leaders on various policies and procedures. She also provides support for events and evaluates the progress of student organizations.

Emily is a higher education professional with expertise in human resources, higher education compliance, policy analysis, and student engagement. Her current research focuses on addressing student inequities, especially among incoming students from understudied populations, using theories such as transition theory, disability theory, and adult learning theory. Her work aims to improve the student experience at Penn State.
