Bio

Andrés García-Suaza is a professor of economics at Universidad del Rosario (Colombia) and a Research Fellow at Global Labor Organization and the Network of Researchers of the Banco de la República. He has served as a consultant and advisor for organizations such as the Colombian Ministry of Labor, the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Labor Organization, and the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean. His research focuses on the areas of labor economics, urban economics, and economic development. In particular, he has studied the causes and consequences of informality in Colombia, driver of gender gaps, analysis of labor demand based on job vacancy posts, green jobs, impacts of migration and assimilation mechanisms.
